Under 2's

The under 2 programme is child led, with planning for activities based on the needs of individual children. Common themes of need form the basis for any group focus.

Care routines are based on the needs of individuals and the wishes of parents and whanau.

Staff work to form positive meaningful relationships with children and their families to best understand the needs of each child and their family. We try to ensure that there is always a staff member available to talk to families about their children's day.

What is happening in the Under 2's?

The current group focus in the under 2's is physical development. As the weather fines up and we are getting outside more often, the children are having increased opportunities to practise their physical skills, such as climbing, ball skills, and other gross motor skills. The Under 2 team have just purchased a new inside physical play area with steps and a slide which the children are also enjoying to extend their opportunities for large physical play through out the year.
